eBay is a both a blessing and a bastard, and today I'm not sure which. £127 has just bought me 13 Defender wheels and tyres, 4 Defender winter tyres, 4 Discovery 4 tyres (A car that I don't even bloody own anymore!), and a set of chav-crushing bull-bars. I didn't intend to buy all of this, but living in an area of relatively low population density means that sometimes no one else bids. No one else bid. On any of the auctions. So, apart from the winters that I picked up last week, I've been running around today paying people and hauling rubber. Still though, at least I'm sorted for off-road/on-road/winter/hooning for a good few years :) I also have a £5 bid on a Defender dog guard so if the trend follows then no longer will I be slobbered on during trips to the beach.

Not sure whether I like this thing? At least it's got Lucas lamps on. Oppoinions welcome;

I think the fact that you have body coloured headlight surrounds and no grille means the bull bar kinda overpowers the front end. Doesn't look bad, just kinda hides the shape of the car.

Most of the rubber on them is shot to shit which is a shame, but I can use the steelies on the other tyres after a good sandblast and paint. No losses in this camp today! There is supposed to be a grille on there btw, I just had to take it off to fit the bars

I just accidentally won an auction for 3 of the same Hot Wheels. Not as big a deal as your haul but I know how that goes.

Missed the second half of your post somehow? I haven't wired in the lamps yet, so have no idea if they work... and any commentary on Lucas is completely justified. I have a Series III as well, along with an entire box of bits marked 'Various LR electrics'. It's bigger than every other box apart from 'Bolts misc.'. This one gets muddied, but I'm a bit precious about the SIII.
